Question Can't boot new build from XP CD

Asus A8N-SLI MB, AMD 64x2 3800, 2GB Corsair Value Select DDR400 DIMM, ATI AIW PCIe, Samsung SH-W162L/BEBN DVD Burner, TDK CD ROM, Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA 3Gb/s HD. Everything but the TDK CD ROM is new. TDK CD ROM is Master on Primary IDE, Samsung DVD burner is Slave. BIOS is configured for boot sequence TDK CD ROM, then Samsung SH-W162L, then HD. Windows XP Pro CD placed in either optical drive results in "Disk boot failure, insert system disc and press enter". When I try to boot from the TDK, it takes way too long to respond - > 1 minute. Booting from the Samsung drive gets the same response, but right away. This is my first build - any help is greatly appreciated.

take out the tdk cd rom, and put the samsung dvd burner only on that ide channel and set it to cable select, and try booting to the xp pro cd again.

Don't suppose you know which jumper sets CS . . . that Samsung was OEM with no installation manual.

Manual page 13. With the jumper block at the bottom left to right is cable select-slave-master.

You can hook both drives back up - if you use a 80 wire cable, set both to CS. If you use a 40 wire, set one MA and the other SL.
