Question another bootup problem...

so i had a bootup problem before and as expected from pros, you guys solved it, now there is another problem, my mobo doesnt short anymore but now the monitor is all choppy and it uses some wierd text i tested it on two different monitors and they both show the same display, could this be because of the graphics card?
another problem is that i set CMOS up so that CD-ROM will boot first and saved the changes, reboot and popped the Windows XP Pro CD into the drive and then i thought everything was fine until the screen just did nothin and it wuz left at:
Verifying DMI Pool Data.............
DISK ROOT FAILURE, [wierd word] SYSTEM ISOLCAT PROOS
wut does this stuff mean and how do i fix all this stuff????
for the monitor problem my graphics card is a XFX Geforce 6800 XT
Thanks guys, im counting on you

Sounds like the video card is defective...but try disconnecting all the drives and see if the weird text goes away. Setting the drive jumpers wrong can sometimes mess up the way text is shown on the boot screens.

When installing Windows, try using only one optical drive. You can connect the other optical drive after Windows is installed.

System disk is your hard drive.

nevermind guys that problem was fixed by replugging the hard drive wires and restarting the pc
now i have a new problem, i thought i had all the problems out of the way and the road to finally finishing my first build was at an end but then i came across another road block...
i installed windows XP pro followed all the directs i got to the welcome screen and logged on and i even got to download the lastest drivers for some of my stuff but then when i restarted the comp, the welcome screen was all blown up and ugly and when i logged in the computer loaded up all the icons onto the desktop and just restarted itself, i tried turning it off for a while and then turning it back on but no matter what i do i get the same results
its killing me to think that i was almost finished and then another problem smacks in my face
i want that feeling of satisfaction that everyone else gets when they finish their first build and just do whatever they want on it with no problems
please help me guys
thanks

Did you enable the firewall before connecting to the Internet? You may have a worm already.
