Power Supply Reccomendations
I am about to buy a new power supply and i wanted to run this by you guys before i did so. At the bottom are my system specs. The one member says i should get a psu with either 525 or 550 my question is can i get away with a 500? The reason being is I have a gift card at staples and the highest one that they have there is 500 and if i can save the money that would be great. Thanks again for all your help.

For future reference, reply to the original thread whenever possible. This is a really busy forum, and it's easier for everyone to keep things contained.
To answer the question, 500watts should be alright, but it needs to be a reliable brand. A good 400watt PSU will work better then a so-called 600watt if it can only spike to 600 and not maintain good clean power. If you can find the model you're thinking of at the staples website, post it please. That will help.

Though 500w might work fine, id take crickets word and go with a larger unit. Just for some extra headroom.

Ok i think that i will take your advice and go with a higher psu. Now my other question would be is what other power supplies can i go with that are reliable and can really perform for a decent price? I would like to save and i remember someone saying about a sparkle power supply. Is that worth it in a gaming system and if so why don't I ever see them in gaming rigs. And what would be the best with no cares in money (Just in case i go all out on it) Thanks again for all your help.

The best sub-$100 PSU right now is the Antec TruePower II 550watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931 If you where going to just go for the best and not worry about money at all, something along the lines of "it's not a personal fusion reactor, but close enough", I like SeaSonic and SilverStone. You could almost power a basic kitchen on one of these things. SilverStone 650watt PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817163108
