Please help, new build not booting
Hey guys, I'm sure you get this a lot around here but I was unable to find a previous post that would answer this question.
I just built my computer: -installed Mobo, memory, cpu, cpu fan, floppy drive, HD, DVD drive, video card, psu, etc.... I'm all ready to boot up the computer and I notice that NONE of the fans are running, nothing on the monitor and the ONLY thing I see is the power light on the mobo. obviously i'm getting power to my mother board but nothing else is running at all... so I took everything out and put it all back in and I get the same problem.. I have noticed a couple of case cables that I'm not sure what to do with.. -one of them is labeled 1394, i'm not sure what to do with that one If there is anything that you guys could say to help me solve this it would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance my gear: case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147001 Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143030 Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131569 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103533 Mem: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145440 HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822135106 DVD drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152058 Floppy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16821152005 |

The 1394 is for your firewire, tho that shouldn't make a difference with your problem right now. Double check your case and mobo diagrams in the respective manuals to be sure your power button is correctly connected from one to the other. Try plugging it in so that the polarity is reversed.
If that's not working, try following HAL's Guide to troubleshooting a new build.

Why power supply are you using? a poor one could result in your system not booting.

Have you remembered to connect the Auxiliary 12v power connector to the motherboard? Its a 4-pin, in addition to the main connector, and can be found near the CPU socket.
