New Build, PCI slot problem

Hi

I have just build a new PC (AMD athlon 3000+ 64 bit, BiostarNF325-A7 board, 2x512 DDR400RAM running Windows XP Pro).

I have just tried to connect a dial up modem I had in my old PC (in case of broad band emegencies!!!), but it doesnt recognise the new hardware when I switch on. I know the dial up is working so now I am worried my PCI slots may be duff. I dont have any more PCI items to test them.

Any suggestions on how to test my PCI slots (I dont still have the installation CD for the modem so I cant try to install it that way).

Thanks
Wesacosa

Try a different PCI slot. Test the modem in another PC.

I have tried 2 of the 4 slots now, and the card does work in another PC.

Thanks
