Need to know startup order

I powered up my new build . everything working. I am confused about what to do first. My Intel board came with a CD and said use this first. the Intel also has a floppy raid driver. Your build book says to go to cmos and then bios. I cant find CMOS. Heres what happens- On start up, blue Intel screen, f2 to enter bios Which I dont. Then message - pxe-e61 Media test failure, exiting - no bootable device- insert boot disk press any key. I have the Intel CD in the drive. Th e only other option after that was to press F4 to enter raid utility.

the first thing you need to do is install the operating system, once that is installed, then install the cd for the motherboard with all its drivers and software, after that is all done, you should be all set to go. you do not need the raid drivers unless you plan on runing a raid system.

New Update- Finally got windows to load. Widows CD worked only in my dvd-rw drive. I had set this to master should I reverse the order? Does this mean the cmos and bios settings are automatic on this board?

Bios settings are set in a way to allow you to boot and install an operating system. The only thing you'll have to change is the boot order by pressing F2 and entering BIOS. It's ususally under Advanced BIOS settings...set it so that your CD-ROM is before your Hard Disk.

Then put your OS CD in the drive and restart. The system will boot from the CD and walk you through drive partition and installation of windows.
