Welcome to the forums!
I'd first suggest searching the forums for $800 gaming build. You should get a decent idea of what components you can get for your budget, and what sort of performance they'll give you. The most important initial decision, before components can be suggested, is whether you want AMD or Intel. It really is personal preference. Does $800 include a monitor and peripherals, or just the box? FK

Ahh, i see you've since added a list of parts
Some decent choices there, but I'd change the following things: RAM: Get a dual channel kit of Corsair value select, 2x512. It improves the speed of the memory over a single stick HD: Get a SATA Hard drive, instead of IDE. They're marginally faster than IDE drives, and the smaller cables improves airflow around your case. PSU: Rosewill Power Supplies are horrible quality. You'll want a quality ATX2 unit for that build. Antec, Enermax, Xclio to name but a few. FK |

Horrible is harsh. I've had EXCELLENT luck with Rosewill(see my sig). However, I would suggest that if the budget permits that you do get something a bit more respected. You'll sleep better at night and when you have a problem with your build and come back to PCMech for help you won't get a bunch of people telling you to get a new power supply. I hear it all the time

Don't have to go with corsair but his point is true that dual channel is better. I would also recommend getting the freebees that come along with some of those purchases. You will notice they have combo deals below the item at the top of the page. The flopplydrive, and the CD's. THey are free with those purchases. I would recommend the antec sonata 11 for your case. Has power supply with it and is around 90 bucks. GOod psu too. Extremetech.com has a build it section with a 800 dollar gaming rig. also a bang for buck gamer and since the article is a couple months old the prices have come down on the bang for your buck so you might be able to buiild it practicaly.
