Beep code question.

In phoenix bios what do the different numbers in the beep code represent?

Is the number the length of the beep? Like 1=short 2=longer 3=even longer

Or does it represent the number of beeps before a pause? 1=1 beep 2=2 beeps etc.

I was just confused on how that worked, I can diagnose it myself if I know what the numbers represent.

Thanks for any help.

For the regular version it is the number of beeps then pause more beeps pause, x-x-x or x-x-x-x, 3 or 4 numbers. For the Award versions it is the length or the high low frequency tone.
The list for the regular version might not be the right one for your specific bios, The Award codes seem to be standard across versions.

it represents the number of beeps before the pause. Check out this site, it has listing of all the beep codes for Phoenix and AMI BIOS.
