You have done your homework well. If the budget is hardlined at that figure, I'd replace that DVD drive with a Lite-On DVD burner and that Trendnet wireless adapter with a name brand adapter, same brand and type as your wireless router - and defer the sound card till later. The onboard sound will work fine for now.

do wireless adapter and wireless router have to be same brand? because this is my first time building my own computer, i sort of forgot/didn't know that there is onboard sound.. so now i get to save some bucks there >< thanks for ur advice.. btw, why would anyone get separate sound card? does it really make any difference? another question, after getting all the parts needed for desktop, is builiding a desktop as easy as my friends say it is? i've been reading how to build a computer on this site and stuff,, and i am gonna try to practice(?) building it with my old computer by taking out hardwares and putting them in again.. is this a good way to learn? They do not HAVE to be the same brand but the configuration is usually easier if they are. Plus, if you have problems and need tech support, you won't have the 2 different companies pointing fingers at each other.
A separate sound card CAN sound better, but try the onboard first. Do this first before starting to install components in your case: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 |
