5th build, 1st problem.

I'm having some trouble getting this computer to work. I'm using the eVGA 133-K8-NF41 motherboard. I'm having some trouble trying to get it to boot. I have everything plugged in, etc. but when I turn on the power, a red light on the motherboard turns on. The light on front of the computer case turns on fine, but when I try to push the on button, the computer doesn't boot, no fans spinning etc. I live in a very humid area, so I don't think it would be static electricity, but I could be wrong.

If there's anymore information that you need to fix this problem, just ask. I'll be watching this thread closely.

I already did that. Nothing. Same problem, the light turns on but nothing else.

By the way, the description and pictures are false. It's a 20+4 connector...

Well, that's a good model/manufacturer of power supply, but it sounds very much like you may have a bad PSU. Do you have another one that you can use to test it out? (Even a 20-pin one might work in a pinch.)

Yes, and it still doesn't work. A thermaltake one.

I could of course be plugging something wrong in, but I doubt it.

Well, then it sounds like a bad motherboard. Make sure you have the power button hooked up right, but if you do, it might be RMA time.

I have the power switch connector plugged in with the text facing inward. It's only plugged into 1 pin, but I don't think that's bad. I can talk on aim if you like.

Oh, well that's your problem. When you press the power switch, you are essentially completing an electrical circuit -- you can't complete a circuit if only one end of the circuit is connected. You need to have the connector plugged into both pins to have the switch work.

But there is only 1 pin =|

It looks like this:
....
.....
I have the 3 pinned hdd led plugged in top, the power switch plugged into the next 1. The bottom 5 are occupied by the reset and... some other one.

Check Page 26 of your manual. The power switch connector should go on the 2 pins on the top right. There is a diagram in the manual. http://www.evga.com/products/moreinf...&pwindow=specs

Ah hell yes, the led doesn't work but who cares, the computer does.

Thanks a bunch.

If your LED doesn't work, then most likely the polarity is wrong. Try flipping the connector 180 degrees, on the same pins.
