Well, looking at Newegg's product listing for NZXT, I see a single PSU which claims SLI certification. If the claim is accurate, then it probably is a high quality PSU. All the other NZXT products are cases which include PSUs.

Although their PSUs might be offered seperately on another retailer's site, this could be evidence that NZXT isn't as reputable as Antec.

On a more subjective note, I've never heard of NZXT until right now. Their case designs aren't too foreign to me, but I've never really read or otherwise heard about them. Antec is highly reputable and well known so I think it's fairly reasonable to say that Antec is definitely better than NZXT. As for how much better it is in term of PSU brand, maybe someone else can answer that.

Antec. I believe it was glc that said that NZXT made nice cases, but their PSU's weren't worth squat. Sorry if it wasn't him, but I HAVE heard that on these forums.

We don't know who actually makes NZXT PSU's, so Antec would be the safer choice.

By using a link that flanzig1 posted the other day that you can check who owns a certain UL patent by entering the UL number on the side of the PS, all the NZXT supply numbers I could find came up as belonging to a Casing Macron Technology Co Ltd. Not that knowing that clears anything up though because I've never heard of them either.

The orginal NZXT PSUs from their first offerings where Orion branded. I wouldn't assume that the NZXT branded ones are any better.

Orion? Man, those were nasty. I'd put them in the Deer category.

So messiah, I think that answers your question. The new NZXT PSUs might work fine, but if you are sending good money on a higher end computer, you should spend a little more and get the Antec.

smokin My power loves me, my power loves me not

When choosing power, because of effiency ratings I was concerned about power loss through heat transfer. So I went with a reputable source, Antec! I read through alot of reviews at www.newegg.com because people tend to bash products pretty throughly.

I found Antec easy to use, reliable so far, and plently of connections. In combination with Asus motherboard it was easy to do.

But to answer your question:

Antec

I asked this question for a friend and I wanted to be sure because i went with antec and had never heard of nzxt, but antec was 50 bucks more so. I told him that 500 watts doesnt' mean 500watts depending the psu. I went with antec in my sig build and i will agree that it is quality. thanks again
