Cool SLI New Build

Weird one for you....

Just built the following:
Mobo: ABIT N18 SLI GR
CPU: P4 660
RAM: 2Gg Crucial
HDD: Maxtor 300Gg
GPU: Nvidea 7800GT (BFG Tech)
PSU: Enermax 600W
O/S MS XP

Everything works great and all games are awesome on it. Then I installed a second 7800GT (same make) and it all worked fine, including having to restart etc.... Games are even smoother. Played for hours.

When I came back the next day to start up, the O/S doesn't launch at all even in safe mode. The only way to get it working is to strip out the second graphics card, turn on, and then the O/S then launches. At this point I turn off - re install the second GPU and it DOES start as normal.

So basically, there's some problem with having the second card in there and leaving it off for a while....

Any ideas ????

Is that Enermax SLI-certified (not just compatible)? Are you using the correct power connectors to the cards?

Also, is your memory certified? http://www.slizone.com/object/slizon...rtified_memory

I have seen non-certified sticks work with SLI, but it is recommended to use certified ones.

I checked it out with both ABIT and from the website SLIZone.com and it's appears fine. I suppose I could buy a Tagam - ABIT recommended one of those too...???

SLI Compatible memory

Just saw this post - my RAM is Crucial. Not Corsair...!!!!! Also it's a mix of 2Kingmax 512's and 2 Crucial 512's...

could it be down to just that... it seems to be working fine right now (as I type this..)
