I am in the process of building a new computer and have a basic idea of what I would like. If everyone could take a look at the components and see if everything will work together that would be great. If you have any suggestions or input on this build please fire away as well. This build will be used for moderate gaming and podcast production, as well as some basic office applications. I have already purchased the case and DVD burner thus far.

My greatest concerns are interfaces, the Hard Drive which I choose is SATA and I have no experience with it at all. The last one I built everything was IDE so this next build is a bit different. Again if there are any suggestions or comments please reply. Alot of components can be changed at this point so any input would be helpful. Thanks MJD |

Looks good to me. I'd change the RAM to Corsair Value Select, we've been hearing lots about Kingston incompatibility of late.
The Raptor hard drive is nice, but perhaps a tad unncessary. Why not go for a drive with a 16MB Cache - still quick, and a lot more storage for your money. The SATA controller is native to the A8N-E, so in essence it should be no different to IDE - just plug n' play. FK

The integrated sound on the motherboard will be pretty good. You might want to try it before you get a sound card.
