Unhappy Hurting *Bad* On Ideas..

Okay. So me and my roommate are building his computer. He ordered nearly all new parts. We hooked everything up a couple of days ago and *bang*, nothing showed up on the monitor. Here's the things we've tried thus far:

1. Switching monitors.. still nothing.
2. Switching out the RAM.. still nothing.
3. Switching out the video card.. still nothing.
4. Tried the information given in the sticky topic (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409).. still nothing.

The motherboard seems fine, all the fans start up, the hard drive starts, all optical drives, PCI devices.

So I'm all out of ideas. I've racked my brain on what the problem could be. He's short on funds and out of ideas on what to do as well. Can someone please help out? Thanks.

Detailed system specs would be a HUGE help.

You said you tried everything in the sticky thread and still nothing.....do you mean nothing as in it doesn't even give you a POST beep or nothing as in no video signal on the monitor. If you don't get a POST beep with just the essential parts as the sticky said, then that's the first thing you need to shoot for, getting a minimum build to at least POST outside the case. Also, have you tried using only one stick of the corsair memory by itself in there to begin with? Some motherboards are picky about mixing brands of ram such as you're doing with the corsair and the generic.

I've tried just the Corsair and just the generic and still got nothing. Not even a beep. His motherboard was fried before and he got it repaired so I'm thinking it's something to do with the motherboard (just found this out about a half hour ago). It has onboard video, but something crazy that I've never seen before is that there's no slot onboard for the monitor. There's only two "male" slots and the usual PS2/USB/LPT/etc. slots. I don't know.

He ordered a new motherboard and it should arrive here tomorrow afternoon. Here it is:

Well, if it won't even POST with the minimum hardware, then yeah, something's not right. And if that mobo has been repaired, that's probably a good guess as to what's not working correctly.

That Biostar is a MUCH better choice than that Pine board. Pine is PC Chips - total crap.

I am also concerned about the power supply - it may be 450 watts but may be substandard too - what brand is it? If it cost less than 40 bucks, it probably IS crap.

One other thing; the reviews on that board show no back plate / IO plate included. Hopefully the one that came with the case will work for you.
