Thumbs up 1st build a surprising success!

Well gang it's been 20 days now since I finished my 1st solo build and I am shocked that it went as smooth as it did. After running 24 hours for 20 days the cpu temp is approx. 48 ° c and the mobo is 42 ° as I type now with several programs running. After reading some of my peers post I was so sure that I was going to make a mess of all this. Oh, I had a few scary moments like when I thought something was wrong with my CPU and I took it back off of the mobo, removed the factory applied thermal paste and assumed I had made a mistake by doing so, or when I panicked when it would not respond when I did the out of case mobo test, BUT, if you don't plug the 4 pin ATX +12V power plug to the mobo this will always happen. Getting the drives into the provided spaces was a challenge also, but well worth the time spent. I think I took the drives out 3-4 times until I achieved a comfortable fit for all the cables and power connectors. Chosing a case with ample space will eliminate some of the headache.

But I must admit that the money that I spent to purchase the pc-mech cd "Build your own computer" is the best $29.95 (or was it $28.95 ) that I have spent in quite some time. If you follow the order in which the hardware is to be added to the build you won't have many problems. I especially enjoyed having the pictures to better help me understand exactly what I was looking at/for. Without these forums and the pc-mechanic cd I don't think I could have had the success that I did. Thanks for all the help friends!!!
