Help putting PC in a car.
I've been toying with the idea for some time now and I'd like some input on how to go about doing this. I'm not trying to build a monster here, just something that can play music and movies. I want it to have a wireless connection to my home network so that when the car is parked in the driveway I can access internet, files, etc.
I need ideas, guides, and recommendations on how to get this job up and running with minimal hassle. I already have the mobo, cpu, ram, video card, and hd(s). I really need some coming up with a case, display, keyboard and mouse implementation, and effective audio hookup through car speakers. I'm trying not to make this a BIG BUDGET endevor so try to keep the cost down please. TIA!

Yeah I don't want to use a laptop.
I'll check out the site tsiguy96, thanks for the link. |

Wow! Did you check out his site? He's nuts with that thing. He's toying with making it talk back to you and what not. All I want is something simple yet effective. Though I can probably learn alot about the PSU config and all that jazz. Nice link Freakitchin.
I was thinking of using an old amplifier for my case with a mATX mobo with onboard audio and video. Touch screen display probably isn't going to happen just yet since the wife isn't very keen on me doing this project anyway and I know she won't allow me to make any MAJOR purchases towards it. I'm trying to use what I have laying around with only some "minor" purchases. Instead of the touch screen I'm going with a mini programmable keyboard. Something that can easily be tucked away in the glove box or under a seat. I have one here but it's meant for gaming... may have to pick something up. There is also the option of voice activation. |
