First build problem
Ok from the start, i had the PC built a week before the O/S came in. No problems, maybe a bit noisy but thats fine.
Had no problems installing the O/S, got into Windows XP just fine, And started installing drivers like crazy, all fine. On restart I actually got onto the internet, which for me meant almost done, however it asked me to restart the machine again as if it just installed a new driver, ok fine, I did and this is where i get issues. First it wouldn't read the Hard drive correctly it would freeze up while trying to load Windows XP, now i can get into Safe Mode just fine. So i install newer drivers from the internet for the mobo, and restart, and get the same issue. So then i looked around and found others with a similar problem flashed the Bios manually using floppy drive (for some reason the asus update program wouldn't read my mobo as an asus board but nvm that), ok i did that, problem still there. I run diagnostics on the Hard drive, no problems. I try to boot using the XP disk, a O/S fix, but it won't read my hard drive. Their aren't any hard drive drivers, so i'm kinda stuck, I've done everything i can think of, this is just a short summary, any ideas? Yes i checked the cable connections, no problems. My hard drive is a Sata/150 drive, and almost definately is compatible with XP |
