Compatability Check! (1st timer)

Sorry, I know you guys probably get a lot of these compatability questions/threads a lot, but I looked everywhere on the manufacturers' websites and couldn't find sufficient info to insure that all my stuff was compatable. So I hope you knowledgeable guys can help 8) Please!

First off, before any reccomendations on replacements because of incompabatablility, I would like at least 256 MB graphics card, I would like to use ddr2 667 ram if possible, I would be willing to use ddr2 533 if I absolutely had to. I would like at least an 800Mhz FSB and 2MB L2 cache, and I'm not sure if the Mobo supports SATA. And that's about it, I'll write the specs here so nobody has to click any links but I think I'm pretty good, but I need more than justa second opinion 8)

-RAM-

-POWER SUPPLY-

COOLMAX CP-500T EPS12V 500W Active PFC - Retail

-HARD DRIVE-

-DVD DRIVE-

Ok, I guess that's it, I also have a monitor with a DVI input to connect to my video card. Just as a note, from what I've read, I'm not sure if the 667 ram will work, I tried checking up on intel's site and it said the system memory for the mobo was 400/533, I dunno if that's the kind of ram it has built in, or if that's all it can support, that's pretty much my biggest question, I'm pretty sure everything else should go together.

And lastly, I'd like to know if I have anything particularly slower or faster than everything else, ie I won't get the full use out of one thing because the other things are limited or one thing is slowing down the use of everything else. Basically I just wanna check that everything is around the same speed so I don't waste any speed 8)

My budget is 1k, this is my first build, and any tips on putting this thing together that aren't on the stickies already would be helpful, and thanks for your time in reading this and helping me out.

P.S. I ahve no idea, on ram, what the PC/PC2, 5300/5400 numbers are for, so if someone could fill me in, couldn't find any guides that explained it anywhere, thanks.

It's all compatible, but not the exact components I would choose. The only quality issue might be the power supply, it's made by a 4th tier manufacturer. I prefer Asus motherboards and Corsair ram, but you can do a lot worse than Gigabyte and pqi. You may want to consider a DVD burner for just a few more bucks. If you need to save a few bucks, DDR2-533 will be fine, a 800 FSB processor can't really take advantage of the higher bandwidth of 667 unless you are going to overclock the thing.

Thanks for the reply 8)

You do mean overclocking the processor right? Because the speed of the ram is so fast can't be utilized because the FSB? I'm pretty sure that's what you mean, I'm starting to learn all of this now 8)

Thanks for the reccomendations, I'll look into 533 ram, a better psu, and check into DVD bruners if they're only a few bucks more 8)

Again, thanks a lot, much appreciated.

Exactly. The XClio 450 or 550 watt power supplies are well worth the money - the 500 watt Goodpower is not that hot.
