I recently got a barebones & a processor & 512mb of memory. I put this togeather, Then when I pluged the completed computer fumes started coming from the computer. The comput5er would not show any graphics, despite the onboard graphics card. A wire got cought in the processors fan so i wander is it burnt out. Your help please.

Welcome to PCMechanic.
Fumes coming out is never a good sign. Can you locate the source? Did they come from the power supply? Also take a look at the motherboard and the cpu(remove the hsf). Look for any black/brown spots.
