First Build Complete
I "finished" my build yesterday. It is finished in that I played FEAR with all of the settings maxed out. It is unfinished in that the side panel is still off and I haven't installed the heat sensor on the chasiss fan.
Here are the specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester 1GHz HT 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe 2 Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KS 320GB Serial ATA II 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer iStarUSA Nitro Ax S-10000B Black/ Silver Aluminium (front panel) and 1.0mm SECC/SGCC (chassis) ATX Full Tower Computer Case ENERMAX EG851AX-VH(W) FM EPS12V 660W Power Supply eVGA 512-P2-N570-AX Geforce 7900GTX 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered System Memory It took about 3 hours, all together, to build it. While the case is cavernous and well built, the documentation isn't great. The motherboard documentation was better, but not perfect. On the whole, it was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. The only trouble I had was figuring out how to configure the RAID 0 array. I found a post here that provided me with the solution. Of course, I would not have had any idea how to do this without all of the information here. |
