Sound Trouble
I recently built a computer with an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe. Im using the onboard sound which is Realtek ALC850 which has Realtek EZ-Connection. When I plug in my headphones or speakers it shows a red X next to the headphones box even though everything is connected properly. When I close that box it shows a red exclamation point next to stereo line in and I'm not getting any sound from either speakers or my headphones. Any suggestions?

Do your speakers work? Are you sure you are plugged into the right jack? Have you tried different headphones/ Have you tried the headphones in a different computer or device, like a cd player or mp3 player.

No speakers do not work either. They are plugged into the right jack.

Crabcakes- I have a very similar issue with a new Kn8. Maybe we'll figure this out ourselves, because I've not found a solution elsewhere so far.
Did you try clicking on the lilttle hammer icon below the picture for the line out connector? You can manually set what is plugged in instead of auto. For me it got rid of the x and the !, but still no audio at all. |

Have you installed the necessary drivers for the motherboard?
