Power Problem

So I finally built my own computer and had a few problems to start off with. I'll leave those out for now because there is one problem that now stands in the way of all of them. I turned off my computer, and when I pushed the power button to turn it back on, nothing happened. I checked all the connections, checked to make sure everything was plugged in and also tried a different power button. The power supply light says it's on standby so I know it's getting power. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Listing the other troubles you're having may be helpful, along with listing your system specs with brands and models of things like mobo, PS, etc.

Before I list the specs, I just wanted to say that I tested the power supply with another computer and it worked fine, so that rules out the power supply. My guess would be the motherboard, but here are the other problems I am having and specs.
When I first turned on the computer everything worked fine. When I went to install windows, the computer froze once right in the beginning before you choose what partition to install windows on. I restarted and windows seemed to be installing fine, and then midway through installation at the installing devices part, I got a blue screen, and I don't remember quite what it said, but at the top it said something about TDI.SYS and at the bottom it said something about a physical memory dump had been completed. I tried installing windows one more time and it worked. I finally got to the desktop, and the first thing I installed were the motherboard drivers. Once I restarted, the computer would freeze at the motherboard logo and wouldn't go anywhere. I tried a few things like taking the RAM and graphics card out and putting them back in. The computer booted again to the desktop and after I turned it off and back on again, the same freezing at the motherboard logo happened again. On occasion though the computer would pass the motherboard logo and would freeze at the verifying the DMI Pool data. After all this kept happening is when the computer died on me and wouldn't power back on. Plus I think I just noticed something with my RAM; My motherboard supports DDR2 Dual Channel RAM, and I Think the RAM I got is single channel DDR2. I'm not sure if this is a problem, but I'm going to exchange my RAM for Dual channel once everything works again.
Here are the specs:
Processor: Intel Pentium D 3.2 GHz
Motherboard: Foxconn NF4SLI7AA
RAM: pqi Turbo PC2 5400 1GSB (2x1GB sticks)
Video: eVGA Nvidia Geforce 7600GT
Hard Drive: Western Digital 250GB SATA 3.0Gb/s
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2-550 550W

There is no difference between single channel and dual channel ram. All you need to *run* dual channel is a matched pair of modules in the correct slots.

Thanks for the replies. After some testing I've found that the motherboard seems to be defective so I'll be ordering a replacement board.
