Computer Wont Post

I was built a system and when i put everything it seemed to work fine. I tried to open the cd drive to put in my windows xp and the tray was stuck. i tried to pull it out with my fingers but it wouldn't come out so it hit the drive and just then everything just shut off.
then it wouldnt turn back on but i found out that it was being grounded by a screw. i got it to turn on but the hard drive doesn't spin and the monitor wont work. there is nothing wrong with the PSU because i tried it in my dads computer.
could someone please help!!

thanks

Please post the complete specs of this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the case and the power supply.

First, unplug the CD and the HD to see if you get the BIOS screen. If no change, do the out of case test to make sure no other screws or metal is shorting things out.

When you tried to boot it up out of the case, did it do anything? Any LEDS light up, fans spin?

If its totally dead, you need to start swapping out parts to find what is defective.
