New build and freezing issues

Hi from a newbie,

During the last year, have been buying compents when I found a good deal. This last week, finally started to put them all together. Ran into a few issues, but cruising these forums found the answers (thanks all). Thought I had it all going, and was pretty pysched till this happened. Got xp loaded, then installed a wireless card so I could download and upgrade drivers ect. After I installed the wireless card, system started to freeze. Re-booted many times, and it seemed if I kept moving the mouse it was ok till I stopped. Removed the wireless, and it ran for a while (5 minutes) then frooze. Going though the forums, thought it might be the psu. Disconnected the optical drive so only the hd was attached (with and without the wireless card) and after a few minutes, computer frooze again in both cases.

Setup:
mobo: sy-k7vme
no video card
cpu: amd athlon xp 2800+, 2.0836 Hz
os: win xp sp2
cpu running around 43 C
HD: maxtor 160gb, 7200 rpm ultra series
Wireless pci adapter: 32 bit pci wg311T
optical drive: IO magic light scribe 16x 8x dl
psu: switching power supply. Model LC-B300ATX

I have been really impressed with this site and would appreciate any advice.

if all was working fine till you put the nic in it, you might try a differant slot and see what happens
