I have my computer "built" now and have a few questions

Question one: The Warn_Led motherboard light comes on. I am going to switch a few things to see if it turns off but does anyone have any idea?

Question two: The rear fan that came with the case has a big Molex size plug on it.. So I pluged it into the EZ_Plug thinking it was to power it? I have Idea as to what the EZ_Plug is for though. I read some stuff on here saying it was for more power if you have two video cards? I am going to unplug it and see what happens but does anyone know where that fan cord goes or if I need the EZ Plug?

Question three: The case I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133172
has a "Case Open" cord coming from a botton that is pressed in by the case cover. I have no idea as to where this goes and can't find anything on it. However, by not plugging it in the computer tells me that something has been tampered with. Any ideas on this one?

Edit: I get the warning
"EZ-Plug warning message
The ASUS EZ-Plug is not connected. Please turn off the system and connect the ASUS EZ-Plug."
Should I connect a power cord from the power supply to the EZ_Plug?

Thanks for any help! I'm sure I'll have more questions later..

You can connect your fan to any 4 pin molex connector from the Power supply.

Does your case manual mention anything about that "case open" cord?

What motherboard do you have?

Do you have an ASUS motherboard? I have the A8N-sli and i have the ez plug. Its just there to supplement the power for if you're running two videocards and need more power. You don't need it if you aren't running two and the fan definently should not be plugged into the EZ plug. To turn off the alert there is an option in the bios. I can't remember where exactly but i think there is a warning/alerts section somewhere. You can turn that off and it won't display the warning anymore.

A few more issues I'd like to address:

1: I have two hard drives; my old 60 gig IDE and my new 250 gig SATA. I am using the IDE as the master drive with my operating system on it while I would like to use my SATA mainly for storage. After every shutdown, when I turn it back on it tries to use the SATA as the startup drive; and since there is no OS on it, it tells me to insert the bootup disk. Sooo.. naturally I go into the BIOS and tell it to put the IDE ahead of the SATA (then save and exit) so it will boot, and it does. The problems is is that It always goes back to using the SATA the next time I turn off my computer so I have to go to BIOS every time. Is there anyway to correct this? Both hard drives are set to master.. I know how to make the IDE nonMaster but not how to do the SATA since the instructions say I don't have to because it should know.

2: There is this slight warm plastic-y/electric smell that comes from my computer. The fans all seem to work and the BIOS temps always say it is around 30-40.. so is this just a "new computer" smell? or is some wire touching something it shouldn't and will eventually be fried?

any thoughts?

Not sure about the SATA issue, but this one is a pretty common question. If it lasts more then a few days to a week, then keep an eye on your temps, but usually that smell is just your PSU being active for the first time. It's a lot of heat in a short amount of time and there is an outer layer that tends to burn in a little bit. If you sniff around your case a little, you should find that the smell is coming from around the power supply fan. It should go away pretty quick.

Thanks, this eases my mind a bit. 1# is just more of an annoyance.
