I am assembling my first PC and have a question concerning the connection of the front USB's.
My case is the I-Cute 0314TL-BB so the USB connection wires are all seperate, the 9 wires are labelled as follows: 1 +5v 2 +5v 1 D- 2 D- 1 D+ 2 D+ 1 ground 2 ground GND My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-8I915G-MF Each USB block is labelled as follows: Pin No. Definition 1 Power 2 Power 3 DX- 4 DY- 5 DX+ 6 DY+ 7 GND 8 GND 9 No pin 10 NC Therefore after connecting the 2 +5v to pins 1 and 2, the 2 D- and D+ to pins 3,4,5 and 6 and the 2 ground to pins 7 and 8, I am left with a single wire (GND), do I connect this or not, I have a spare pin 10 marked NC, which I assumed was not connected. Your help would be much appreciated. |

Skip the extra GND. You shouldn't need it with the other two ground connections. Just make sure 1D+/1D- are on one side and 2D+/2D- are on the other side.
