Firewire connection to mobo problems
My case IEEE 1394 (Firewire) wires and mobo, Gigabyte GA-8I915G-MF, pin labels do not seem to match up in their definition.
My mobo labels are as follows: Pin No. Definition 1 Power 2 Power 3 TPA0+ 4 TPA0- 5 GND 6 GND 7 TPB0+ 8 TPB0- My Case wires are labelled: VP VG TPA TPA* TPB TPB* Ground Ground So, I am assuming the two grounds to the two GND Is TPA* and TPB* the positive ones? meaning that TPA and TPB are negative. That leaves VP and VG which therefore must both go to Power? Does it matter which way round? I wish they all used the same abbreviations! Thanks guys |

According to my case and mobo manuals which use the same abbreviations: VP goes to a power pin
VG goes to a ground pin next to it For the TPB, sounds right.
