post problem
hey all,
i finished putting together another system, and i'm having problem with post. system powers up, one beep, then monitor displays motherboard logo along with "press delete for setup or tab to display bios" but is stuck at that point. i tried using only one module of RAM. everything is compatible, that i'm sure of. everything else seems to be in working order, it just won't go past that window. any thoughts? ASUS P5RD1-V P4 530J 4 X 512MB DDR400 1 DVD-ROM 1 CD-RW DRIVE 40GB IDE 80GB IDE ULTRA X-Connect 500W PSU never mind i disconnected one of the HD's and the CD-RW drive. posts fine, just have to finish installation.BTW, this mobo sucks. i don't recommend it to anyone. nothing but problems ever since i got it. I kinda had this same problem, and tech support told me the same thing, but it won't work, it doesn't freeze during POST, and thats what makes me think my problem is unique.

Try disconnecting all the drives before you power it up and then try to enter the BIOS. If the computer works like it should one of your drives is causing the problem (probably one of the optical drives).
I would also try another compatible power supply just to rule the X-Connect out. Cricket
