need help barebone start up problem

i assembled a barebone unit today 478 celerond unit, it was as close to the existing unit i had which i use my old hard drive, cd, dvd, a drive every thing else new. the problem i am experiencing is when turned on I hit f2 to check settings. then when proceeding into start up the system show the intel logo on the screen and then attempt to load but i get a quick blue screen with a message however it dissappears to fast to read and the system starts back up to the intel mother board screen and then ask whether to start in several different mode. no matter what mode u select it alway goes back thru the same process restart/ displays intel motherboard screen then ask again which mode you wish to start up in. What i am concerned about is under the boot section of the bios setting there is a note in the right column which states something to this if drive is in parathesis it has been disable in or by (some)type. all three of my drives are in brackets and not sure there are being referred to. my original system i swapped component from worked. Will my harddrive which was already loaded with widows xp home edition work with out having to alter it? tried to restart with my xp disc in drive still can't get system to load. any suggestions?

Your hard drive is full of driver info that doesn't match the newer hardware..

You can try doing a "repair" install that works 90% of the time....

Remove the ISP connection and create a new one. It's looking for a different instance of the modem.
