I have an old Emachines that I have upgraded considerably. The only original parts are the power supply and proccesor. i want to dress it up a bit and get a new case. i have no idea what I'm looking for in a case. I want soemthing I can just transfer everything easily. I have basically rebuilt the whole thing according to the forums here so I figured this was the best place to ask. I want something that looks good, but isn't too expensive. The proccesor is a 2.70mhz celeron. I need room for 2 harddrives, DVD and CD drives, 4 PCI slots in back. I was thinking something that was along the lines of alienware or soemthing like that. Nothing too bright or colorful. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The newegg web site has a pretty good search engine. You can select different parameters like: price range/color/size/maker and probably get close to what you want. Then scroll through the different cases and find one that you like.

You'll have to make sure that the case conforms to the motherboard configuration.
For example, if your motherboard (that you bought) was a form factor ATX, then you woud have to get a case that would accomodate an ATX Motherboard, not a MicroATX, as those are smaller. That's as much (at least, I think), there is to case selection. The other factors are cost and style, but that is entirely up to you. |
