2nd PC Build: STOP 0000007B Inaccessible boot device problem
Building a new pc to use in my car with a 8" monitor in place of the headunit. I finished building a pc a few weeks ago and its running great. I bought a Shuttle XPC for my carPC project, have a DC-DC power supply to use once I first get it running in the house.
I started a thread previously asking whether to go with Intel Celeron D package or VIA package, with everyone pointing me to the Intel. Unfortunately, the Celeron D is too power hungry so I ended up with the SK21G with the Sempron cpu. I tried three different hard drives and each one it formats, copies files and then when it goes to restart and the windows xp bootup screen with the rolling blue bar comes up I get the dreaded blue screen giving me the 0000007B error. I've read every thread I have found using Google, but either it didn't relate to my problem or the explanations they got into were too complicated. Supposedly one solution involves using Linux and doing I dunno what to get XP running but I've never used linux and that solution seemed very complicated. Anyone know a simple solution to this problem? This is my setup... Sempron 3100+ Shuttle XPC SK21G VIA K8M800CE Chipset UniChrome Pro 3D Video AGP 8x/4x upgrade ready Chaintech 7.1 Sound Card Corsair ValueSelect 512mb ram I'm willing to try anything at this point, just give me some instructions. I'm off to Fry's in the morning to see how much they would charge to install the OS since I'm sure they will probably know how to get past this problem. |

0x0000007B (0xF78e1528,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
Thats the exact error, and when I tried it in the Microsoft support site it doesn't even exist. I've already read all the troubleshooting tips and nothing is working. I've tried 4 different hard drives, formatted all four after they wouldn't start up and installed XP and the same thing happens so I know its nothing to do with the hdd but something else. |

Don't know if this is pertinent but if you have any card readers or usb devices connected to the mobo usb headers or any usb devices plugged into the usb ports, disconnect all of them.
