Issue with NVidia Boot Agent
I just finished building a new rig:
MSI K8N Diamond Plus Athlon 64 3500+ 200gb WD IDE HDD (can't remember the specific brand offhand since it's an old HDD from my previous computer) PNY Geforce 7600GT 768 MB RAM (will be upgraded shorty to 2GB corsair XMS) The issue I'm having is with the NVidia boot agent during startup. Last night while I was reinstalling windows xp pro and all of the needed drivers for my video card and sound card, I had no issues with booting. After I installed the MSI drivers, the nvidia graphics drivers, and the creative audigy drivers, i decided it was time for sleep. I wake up this morning and after the computer POSTs, I get a few text lines talking about PXE (primarily copyright info) and that it fails and exits, and then it enters the NVidia boot agent and hangs after the copyright info. I did a bit of research on what causes it, and it seems to be coupled primarily to the use of SATA hard drives, which I'm not using. Any suggestions? The part that gets me confused is that I rebooted probably 10 times last night with no hang ups, and without changing any settings since last bootup, it's doing this. |
