Chipsets
Hi, I'm trying to narrow down which motherboard to go for, within a certain range. The only thing that seems to be different in some cases is the chipset. I seem to have a choice of:
VIA K8M800 or Nforce 410 Can anyone comment on these? Will I notice a difference? Does one hold an advantage over the other? Thanks! |

If you took a survey here, I'd bet you'd see 99% of the folks recommend Nforce over VIA. Via may be fine for general purpose pc's (and some say that's questionable thinking!) but nForce is the preferred performance chipset for AMD processors. And if it's an Intel processor, the preferred choice is an Intel chipset.

I have't had any experience with VIA chipsets, but I hear from several members that they are not the best when it comes to stability. Like PR said, its best to go with the nForce chipset.
