loud beeping
Hey there, I am currently reassembling an old computer...
here are the specs.. Radeon 9600 graphics card Abit nf7 series MB 1g corsair ram amd sempron processor 2.4 ghz maxtor 120g hd The Problem!! When I power on the PC it starts running for a few sec then all the fans and processor stops and it makes an annoying sound... beeedooobeeeedooobeeedooo etc... any ideas? |

Make sure that the stick of memory is firmly seated into the DIMM slot. Otherwise, if you have more than one stick of memory, boot up using one stick of memory at a time. Else, if you have a spare stick of DDR-RAM stick lying around, boot up with it.
What brand/make power supply unit do you have? kram

That sounds like an overheat warning. Is the CPU heatsink installed properly with a thermal pad or compound?
