New Build - Curious about space
Putting this together for work (graphics, web, etc) and plenty of multitasking (possibly some gaming and media center use as well).. I'm curious as to if spacing for my Ninja heatsink/fan would be an issue and what you thought about the overall airflow, noise, and performance of what I'm putting together. Thanks!

I might wait till June for the new AMD's to hit so the CPU price drops. |

Welcome to the forums.
For a multitasking system, you're right to go dual core, but I'd question the need for an SLI capable motherboard for "some gaming". Running two Video cards in SLI mode is only really necessary for committed gamers, since the gains don't really match the cost. I'd recommend the Asus A8N5X as a cheaper, quality alternative. The video card you chose is a good mid-range card, and your hard drive, processor and case are fine also. You'll need to change the power supply for a higher quality model that conforms to ATX2 standards. I'd recommend the Antec Truepower 550w, a quality unit that will power your build well, and leave room for future expansion. Corsair XMS memory is considered unnecessary unless you're into overclocking. Corsair Value Select memory will do the job on a system at stock speeds just as well, and for less money. However, some specials and mail-in-rebates from online vendors have brought the price of XMS to below that of Value Select recently. Check the prices. I'd swap the Samsung Optical drive for a Lite-on, I find Samsungs to be noisy and of low-ish quality. Lite-ons are no more expensive. Finally, your retail box processor comes with a perfectly adequate heatsink/fan and thermal compound. Not using these would invalidate the warrenty on the chip, so no need for AS5 or the Scythe Cooler. FK

thanks for the tips.. that motherboard doesn't work for me since there's only one pci express x16 slot. I'm hoping down the road to add a HD Tuner card with HDMI/HDCP support and dual tuners once that sort of thing gets cheaper and more robust in features. Slim pickens at the moment. I'm considering overclocking down the line, depending on how many resources I require. When I do game, its usually very resource intensive. I don't need SLI per se, but from what I've seen, non SLI or Crossfire boards are short on other features I will need (like more than one pci express 16 connector)

TV Tuners don't use a x16 slot. That is only for graphics cards. A TV tuner will either use a standard PCI slot, or newer ones will use a PCI-E x1 slot. The combo cards that are both a video card and tv tuner like ATIs All In Wonder cards are pretty middle of the road. For best results you want a tv tuner and seprate video card. A non SLI or Crossfire motherboard will work just fine.
