First power up

Hi, Guys. I just powered up for the first time. Everything seems to be in order. Thanks for the previous advise. All 6 fans ran, the ram sticks lit up like Christmas trees, and hard drives activity led's were ablinking. Floppy also showed activity. The only thing I'm not sure of is that the DVD /CDs light didn't light. Also the door wouldn't open. Is this normal or do I have a problem? Thanks in advance for your support. Sincerely, Tony.

Check the power and data cables to make sure that they are fully seated. Also, check the jumper settings are set for the type of data cable you have: 80 wire, set to CS/40 wire,master/slave(if on the same cable)

Middle connector on an 80 wire cable is slave, jumper it to CS. If it's 40 wire, it doesn't make a difference.
