MB or cpu?
I have just recently gotten a Biostar K8M800-M7A Motherboard, and a Sempron 64 3000 cpu. When i installed them, The Cpu fan, the graphics card fan, and the green LED on the board worked, but the fans seemed awfully slow and sometimes would stop after about 10-20 seconds but othertimes kept going. There was no Post, the psu fan wouldn't spin, and the 3.5in floppy kept clicking even when i disconected the IDE cable and left the power cable attached. The CD drive wouldn't open or anything. The Power button on the front of the case wouldn't turn it on or off. I know the psu is good, i even tried a diffrent one with the same result. I tried going off integrated graphics, same thing. Swapped 3 diffrent ram modules, same thing. Regardless of what i did i got the same thing.
Problem is since i got the Motherboard and CPU at the same time, i'm not sure which is the culprit. Any help would be appreciated Thanks. |

What brand is the power supply and how many watts does it put out? And is the motherboard power connector a 20 pin or 24 pin connector?

GLC I actually saw that and tried it in my googling to find an answere to my problem.
The PSU is a codegen 350W 20pin, the motherboard is also a 20pin. I'm doubting its a problem with the power supply as i have 2 diffrent ones and it was the same problem with each. Both are known to work as they both work with my old setup. |
