New built in a year

Hey guys I plan on building a new rig next year tax season. I plan on spending around 2000-2500 and that’s only for CPU, Graphic Card(s), Ram.,mobo and new case. I’m reusing everything else that I have. Question is what kind of components will be out in a year’s time. Is it too far to tell? Will there be a big difference from today’s stuff?

Yeah, it'll be kinda hard to guess what'll be out in a year. For sure, Intel's Conroe CPUs, now called Core 2 Duo (due out in July), and AMDs AM2 socket (due later this month) and they will have switched to DDR2. DDR2 will be standard across the board. I would also expect at least two new generations of video cards...especially at the rate they have been coming out lately.

Start planning about 1 month before building. Anything before that will strictly be dreaming.
