AMD Heat issues?
I am about to do my first AMD build in about 4 years. I remember the older AMD CPU's had a over heat problem and we had to use 3rd part HSF to resolve the problem. I think this is no longer an issue with the newer processors. I'm going to use a Venice core in this build.
Is the HSF that come int box adequate for this build? Also I'd appreciate any tips you might want to pass along. I'm going to use an ASUS A8N5X mobo and a AMD 3500+ CPU.

The stock unit should be OK if you aren't overclocking.
Poor case airflow is probably the most common reason for heat issues in general. Your best bet for getting a case that won't have airflow issues is to get one off af Intel's Thermally Advantaged Chassis list. One of the Antecs on that list would be a good choice. The P180 comes without a PSU if you want a different one than the stock units in the other models.

The HS/fan combo that comes with the PIB (retail) versions are pretty good. That's all I've used for years now. You also get a 3 year warranty over an OEM CPU + aftermarket HS/fan combo.
