Slow responding new build
was building my first build at when I turned it on everything responded really slowly. It took forever to move a highlighted choice in the bios. So I installed windows and still was slow. The mouse doesn't respond at all. So I RMA'd my motherboard, got it replaced and the problem is still occuring. I noticed that the motherboard 24-pin connector has one slot empty. Could that be the problem? Thanks

That power supply has an extra 4 pin connector, so it can be used on older motherboards and carried over when the owner upgrades, which is why it's 20+4pin.
If you're just using the 20 pin then that's your problem. I'm surprised the computer booted at all. This is what you should be seeing with the power connector : http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...ply+%2D+Retail Go find the other 4 pin connector.

Pam, I think he'd talking about the fact that therea re only 23 wires going into the 24-pin connector. This topic has come up before.

Yes, on re-reading it I think you're right.
