Antec P160W offer from Buy.com

I’m probably going to order an Antec P160 case from Buy.com.

I’ve found something confusing. A few days ago I found the following link that shows a picture of the case with the side panel window, which I don’t need.

http://www.buy.com/retail/Product.as...omp&adid=17662

I couldn’t remember where I bookmarked that link (I’ve since found it) so I searched buy.com and came up with the following link:

http://www.buy.com/retail/Product.as...omp&adid=17662

What’s confusing to me is that the case with the window is cheaper and refers to the $20 mail in rebate, which is part of the reason for wanting this case. $80 seems to be a pretty good price.

The windowless case is out of stock and does not refer to the rebate and is $15 more expensive than the windowed version.

I’ve clicked on “refresh” on the cheaper unit to make sure the price hasn’t changed………..it hasn’t changed.

Is this situation normal? I can see why an out of stock item would not mention the rebate, but is a windowed version of a case typically cheaper than a case without a window?

I presume this is a pretty good deal, especially when coupled with free shipping.

Any thoughts on buying from Buy.com or this specific offer?

I've never gotten anything from Buy.com, but their rating over at ResellerRatings stinks. I'd look elsewhere for that case. Did you check Newegg or ZipZoomFly yet?

Actually, I've been shopping with them for years and never had a problem. Yes, it's common for prices of of less to be more when sales are going on. For example, I was in Best Buy yesterday and picked up Nero's latest version Nero 7 Ultra for off the shelf $50 less than the old version 6 is still selling for a couple of feet down. With a $20 rebate I'll pay $29.95 for the latest-n-greatest while someone who just knows they want "Nero" might pick up the old one for $99. I see that kind of stuff all the time. Even Newegg, farily recently, had the new Acronis version on sale for $10 less than the old one.
