Unhappy Noobie needs help HDD problem.

Here's the story. A while ago I bought an old PC. Anyway it has a 14 GB hard drive. It didn't take long at all for me to decide that it had to go. So I bought a new 160 Western Digital HD and for a while I ran the new one as a slave drive and used it for storage. But then after hundreds of warnings telling me to clean drive C, I gave up and decided to ditch the old drive. So I went on and did the following.

1. Removed old HD
2.Reset New Drive to Single drive Master.
3. Installed New Drive.
4.Booted New Drive
5.Installed Windows XP (at least I'm pretty sure)
6.Tried to run PC.
7. Tried again (a few times)
8.Messed around with the BIOS (boot order, HDD detection)
9.Gave up and went to bed.
10. Woke up tried again, then decided to ask in PCMech forums.

Anyway this is the story. If anyone has any info on what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks.

The computer isn't booting into Windows?

What are the complete system specs for this computer? List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.

Are you getting any error messages or is the computer freezing up during bootup?
