my budget build

This is my first attempt at building a computer. the computer basically for internet borwsing and Microsoft Office applications. A lot of people told me just to buy a low end Dell etc since I am on a budget, but I want to do this more for fun. Let me know what you think of my proposed set up.

-ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX Motherboard

-Rosewill R62tc-64PX Geforce 6200TC

-AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 2 ghz

-Cordsair Valueset 512 MB

-Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250gb 7200 RPM Hardrive

-NEC 16x DVD Brurner

all this with case and operating system i have priced at about $500.

what do you think, am I missing anything?

Powmax power supplies are not good quality. You could keep the case if you like it, but replace the power supply.

I would recommend the Antec Sonata II. It is an excellent case that comes with an excellent power supply. If you just need a new power supply, the Antec 450w would be a good fit.

I would skip the 6200TC. The TC stands for "Turbo Cache" which means the card uses your system ram as video ram. Since you do not need much video for your uses, grab a Radeon
X550 PCI-E card. They are cheap and will be a good fit for you.

If you aren't going to game, you might as well get a motherboard with decent onboard video - and take the money you were going to spend on a video card and up the ram to 1gb with it. Look at the Asus A8N-VM series.
