Ok, so AMD has officially launched their socket AM2. However, the change holds no real performance gain even with the use of "faster" ddr2 memory. My dilemma for my upcoming build is whether to stick with socket 939 (FX-60), which has dropped significantly in price, or go with the new and faster FX-62 on the AM2 socket. The drawback is the extra couple hundred dollar difference between the two processors. Would i be hurting myself by building a new system with a socket 939 cpu? Here would be my FX-60 configuration:

That's really hard to say. The FX-60 is heck of a processor and would last you a good while. Keep in mind you just won't be able to upgrade the CPU in the future...but then again, you shouldn't need to for a while with a CPU like the FX-60.
