You could build quite a range of PCs with no budget....I'd say start out at $1000 and maybe up to $1500.

Do you *have* to have dual video cards? It would be a better value to get a single fast video card. I'd try to squeeze in a 7900GTX - that would be better than dual 7800GTs.

FSP 600W PSU - $140
ASUS A8N32-SLI - $200
AMD 4400+ X2 - $460
Cosair VS 2GB RAM (2x1GB) - $160
eVGA 7900GTX - $460
WD SE16 250GB - $90
LITE-ON DVD-RW - $36
Win XP Home OEM - $90

$1636 + Shipping

I'd say thats the best I can come up without going overboard.

You guys would have to pick out a case - try to find one that you like the looks of. I'd pick one, but I wouldn't have to look at it every day.

I'd say you could do an AM2 build, but it's relatively new and I don't know how good it is right now...

I wouldn't go for AM2 just yet. AMD has said that they will still be moving out new socket 939 CPUs for some time yet, so there will be upgrade room. And as blue said, AM2 is still a bit new.

The parts above are about where I would go for a top end gaming system as well. It can be tweaked up and down some if need be, but you don't need more to have a great exprence.

For the money, this is a good case

If you are a serious gamer, you will need a sound card too. Audigy 2ZS or X-fi

I would also go for a single video card, you can add one later on, when games will actually use the technology to its advantage.
