lock up
my wife comp will lock up after about 5 mins when she turn on the comp you will see the desktop give 5 mins it will lock up and the hard drive light stay on .

Check that the cpu heatsink/fan unit isn't loose or getting clogged up with dust. What you described sounds like it could be an overheated cpu issue. If it is getting clogged up just blow all the dust out with canned air.
