AMD or Intel
For a Gaming system which would be better...having a Intel system that would have Intel Pentium D 830 800MHz FSB LGA 775 Dual Core, EM64T Processor or it would have in the Althon AMD Athlon 64 4600+ X2 2.4GHz, 512KBx2 L2 Cache 939-Pin 64-bit Dual Core Processor - OEM. The Althon is expensive about a 100 dollars more at the site I am building on. I am wondering which one would be more worth it...Go with the more expensive or go with the Intel that would have a better Ghz size?

Between equally priced chips, I would flip a coin. However, honestly, spending more is going to get you more. Make sure that you purchase a retail version of the processor as it comes with necessary cooling equipment.

It all essentially comes down to brand loyalty. You will hear people say that AMD PC's are suited for gaming, or that Intel CPU's are best suited for media and content creation, and if you really get down to it, maybe that's true.
However, the difference is probably so minimal you wouldn't see a difference |
