Your parts list looks fine. I would suggest another retailer though. Avalon's prices are a bit high. Ncix is a popular Canadian store. They have the A8N-SLI for $163CAD. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS

The optical drive you listed i believe is an external model. Plus its kinda pricey.

Good call, you can pick one up for under $40 USD (not sure what that is in CDN)

That list looks good.
You did choose a DVDROM instead of the DVDRW in your original list. If you want to burn DVDs, be sure to switch it.
