Upgrading becomming a whole new build..

Well to start im new here so Hello everyone

Anyway.. about 2 years ago I build my first computer with the following basics:

Thermaltake Xaser V Damier V6420AU Silver -420W Power Supply
DFI LP PRO 875B Socket 478 Intel 875P ATX Intel Motherboard
PROLINK PV-N35XAG (128JD) Geforce FX5900XT 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X
Intel Pentium 4 2.8C Northwood 800MHz FSB Socket 478 Processor
CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST3160023AS 160GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150

Now.. I had been looking to upgrade my video card mainly but technologys have changed quite a bit so in order to get a decent video card I needed to upgrade my motherboard and then along with that my processor. Then I figured I should probably upgrade to a 500W PS atleast so I just got a new case and PS as well.

So atm what im looking at keeping is my HD's and RAM. I read another post about using an old HD with windows already installed on it so im going to try and do the repair and see if it works out.

Now since I didn't have a whole lot to spend this time around so this is what I came up with:

eVGA 256-P2-N553-AX Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor
Case with 500W PS

For right now this is what im going to go with adding in my RAM and old HD's(Assuming they end up working )
When I get more money im going to continue the upgrade and switch out the ram for 2GB's and possibly buy a new HD or 2 and a fresh copy of windows XP Pro.

Im no pro at putting together computers and I dont know what everything is or what everything means.. I checked everything for compatability and it all works as far as I saw.
Im just looking for comments and maybe if anyone sees a problem with the hardware that I should change.

I'd recommend getting an ASUS A8N5X. First, it's about $50 cheaper, secondly, DFI's can be picky about RAM and can be picky to work with. Unless there's some feature of it you want, of course.

I'm not sure of the quality of the bunlded power supply, I'm not sure who makes it.
