Final Specs for New Build

Mobo: ASUS A8N32 - SLI Deluxe CPU: Athlon 64 X2 3800+ HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 300 GB 16MB cache RAM: Corsair XMS 2GB (2x1 GB) 184-PIN DDR Pri. Optical: Sony - DRU 820A Sec. Optical: Sony - DDU1615 Video Card: ATI All-In-Wonder X800 XL System: Windows Media Center Edition 2005 Comments/Suggestions Please! How fast will this actually be? Will do alot of Video-Editing/Gaming.. |

Get the non SLI version of the motherboard for 20-30 bucks less. You can't use SLI with ATI video cards, so there isn't any reason to spend the extra cash to get it. I would switch the optical drives to liteon's. Corsair value select will be fine for the RAM, you won't notice the difference unless you are overclocking, which isn't really advisable for a video editing setup anyway. Whichever RAM you get check the QVL at ASUS or use corsair's configurator to be sure it is compatible. Most motherboards are picky about what 1Gb modules will work right on them.
